Joshua could fight Klitschko in October says promoter

Joshua, the WBA and IBF king, climbed off the canvas to stop the 41-year-old Ukrainian in front of 90,000 supporters at Wembley last month and maintain his ideal professional record.

Anthony Joshua's proposed rematch with Wladimir Klitschko looks certain to take place overseas, with Las Vegas the most likely destination.

Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, has suggested that wheels are in motion to get Joshua vs. Klitschko II booked this Autumn but, given the less favourable weather conditions expected at that time of year in the United Kingdom, an outdoor stadium would simply be unfeasible to host the event.

"The Principality Stadium (formerly Millenium Stadium in Cardiff) is not really available in November because of rugby so 28 October is the option".

Joshua's thrilling win over Ukrainian Klitschko was watched by a post-war record crowd of 90,000 at Wembley.

"I believe Klitschko will go ahead with the rematch so we are looking at dates", said Hearn as quoted by The Mirror, before outlining Cardiff in Wales could be a strong consideration.

'Most of December is available but I don't really want to go that late.

Klitschko came into the fight with Joshua on the back of a 17-month break from the ring following his defeat to Britain's Tyson Fury in November 2015.

'Josh has a bit of a sore shoulder, Klitschko has had a tough fight, his face was bashed up.

Staging a rematch outdoors could be hard in the autumn, but the 74,500-capacity Principality Stadium's retractable roof could make it a viable option. "We should know where we are going by the end of June".

"Even if you started back in camp in August, then you have September and October so end of October can work".
