Red Dead Redemption 2 delayed until Spring 2018

Rockstar's parent-publisher, Take-Two Interactive, made several announcements today, one including big news for the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer. "In the meantime, please enjoy this selection of new screenshots from the world of Red Dead Redemption 2", according to an official press release from Rockstar Games. Rockstar has always delivered immaculate quality games and it previewed this by releasing what the Game Debate Blog described as "a gallery of absolute stunning new in-engine screenshots". Having Red Dead Redemption 2 delayed to Spring 2018 could nearly be seen as a blessing since that is one less game to add to our backlogs. It will feature a single player story, an open world, gang hideouts, and many other elements gamers would be familiar with, thanks to Rockstar's previous release, GTA V. It is also expected that the game would have an online mode that would be released later after the game's release. A PC release has not been announced yet.

Another factor is the one that Rockstar themselves have cited. It originally launched in 2013 on the last generation of consoles. There, the developers had to stay within the bounds and limitations imposed by the game's original version.

KitGuru Says: Rockstar is no stranger to delaying games so this move isn't completely unexpected.

This goes beyond mere graphics, too. The level of detail in the images is stunning-everything from the lighting effects to the surrounding foliage give the game a realistic look. Unfortunately, fans of the game are going to have to wait quite a bit longer as the company announced in a blog post that the game has been delayed. We agree with many fans who say that they would rather wait patiently only to receive an awesome game as opposed to having it rushed out in an unpolished state.

News broke yesterday that Red Dead Redemption 2 would be delayed, however this was in no way surprising as many had already predicted for this to happen.
