With a dominating performance, India thrashed Pakistan 7-1 to register their third straight win and seal a place in the quarter-finals of the Hockey World League in London on Sunday.

India is level in points with group B leaders Netherlands with only goal difference keeping the sides top and second, while Pakistan are struggling at the bottom of the group.

India defeated Pakistan 7-1 in their match of Hockey World League Semifinal Round at London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Sunday.

India recorded three wins in the on-going tournament.

The Netherlands will take on India after impressive wins against Pakistan (4-0) and Scotland (3-0). Harmanpreet Singh enthralled the Indian fans, who had turned up in full strength with India's fourth goal in the 33rd minute. Prior to that India had won two consecutive games in 2015 and 2014. A left side attack resulted in Pardeep Mor receiving the ball on the right side of the circle. Pakistan pulled one back late in the match with a 57th minute strike from Muhammad Umar Bhutta. Considering the previous statistics, Pakistan did not look the team that lost 7-1 in the end as they were the attackers in most of the first quarter. India secured another penalty corner four minutes into the second quarter but Harmanpreet's flick was saved by Amjad Ali.

"For the participation of Indian team in the Hockey World League, preparation camps were held at Sports Authority of India (SAI) Southern Centre, Bengaluru and the entire cost was borne by the Sports Ministry".

The match never went out of India's grip and they continued to torment Canada. They come into the match in good form. They remained the better side nearly throughout the first quarter.
