Germaine de Randamie has been stripped of her UFC women's featherweight championship after refusing to defend her title against Cris "Cyborg" Justino, the promotion announced Monday.

Cris "Cyborg" Justino and Megan Anderson will fight for the newly-vacated women's featherweight championship at UFC 214 on July 29.

In May, de Randamie, via her management team at Suckerpunch Entertainment, said that she would not entertain a fight with Cyborg over accusations of performance enhancing drug use. "UFC maintains that any champion is expected to accept fights against the top contenders in their respective weight classes in order to maintain the integrity of the sport".

In total, the 27-year-old Anderson is 8-2 in her MMA career and is now on a four-fight winning streak. De Randamie and her camp hadn't talked since February. Despite the Australian's lack of experience in the UFC, Cyborg is still expecting a tough fight, given some of Anderson physical advantages. The former #Invicta featherweight champion will fight for the first time at 145-pounds under the UFC banner, and as you can imagine, this is music to her ears.

"Since I've been fighting in the UFC, people have been saying that there are no women my weight to fight", Justino said.

'We'd obviously been campaigning for that fight, probably for three weeks, but the UFC had told us it wasn't happening, ' Anderson told ESPN. She was promoted to full-blown champion when Cyborg relinquished the Invicta FC championship in March to intensify her pursuit of the UFC title. "She wants the fight".

"That I'm stripped does not mean I'm going to stop", de Randamie said.

This will be "Cyborg's" third fight in the UFC, but the first in her natural weight class, with her two previous TKO victories over Leslie Smith and Lina Lansberg having taken place at a catchweight of 140lbs.

The highly-anticipated grudge match between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier will provide the main event for UFC 214, a card which also features the likes of former bantamweight kin Renan Barao, British light heavyweight Jimi Manuwa and the outrageously ripped Sage ManZant.
