Aston Martin Vulcan Gets Even Wilder With AMR Pro Upgrade Pack

Aston Martin on Thursday unveiled its new Vulcan AMR Pro package, an upgrade that's aimed at improving the performance of the track-only supercar, according to a press release. The British carmaker also claims that all these changes make the Aston Martin Vulcan one of the world's most extreme and exclusive track cars.

The new aerodynamics are hard to miss.

The front wheel arches see the addition of louvred carbon-fibre panels which extract high pressure air in an effort to reduce aerodynamic lift.

The Vulcan's rear also has a new look, with a redesigned rear wing.

The AMR Pro package brings a new dual plane design rear wing to the Vulcan's business end, which comes with a 20 mm "Gurney" flap that maximizes the amount of downforce.

The aerodynamic balance has also been altered, shifting the cars centre of pressure closer to the middle of the auto making for improved traction, steering response and front-end grip.

Along with the extra aero, there's a weight-saving measure involved. Oh, and by the way, the engine cover is 5 kilos lighter than on the regular model.

Aston Martin Vulcan has been announced to have the latest AMR Pro upgrade.

David King, Aston Martin vice-president and chief special operations officer, said: "When we first conceived the Aston Martin Vulcan it was to create something that expressed Aston Martin's wilder side". As one of only seven built, the Vantage AMR Pro also sports fully adjustable suspension and a full-on rollcage - hence why this is a track-only beast. The aero tweaks do more than just push the vehicle into the ground, they also redistribute the force to give the Vulcan better balance overall at speed. The changes done include extensive aerodynamic enhancements and shortened gearing to produce increased downforce, greater responsiveness and reduced lap times, states Aston Martin. When you get the aero working through a fast corner it really is an unbelievable feeling.
