Sania said Mithali Raj has been performing amazingly for many years, she is an incredible ambassador for the game of cricket. "The captain, vice-captain, wicket-keeper, the highest-scorer are all our employees", said Prabhu at a felicitation function for the women cricketers at the Rail Bhavan today.

Indian women's cricket team received a rousing reception on their arrival at a city hotel yesterday.

An hour later, the women's team will be honored by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in a five-star hotel.

The team has returned from London after participating in Women's World Cup in which India lost to England in the final played last Sunday.

"As a player grows and gains experience at the worldwide level, each one of them becomes a leader in their own respect", MIthali said. I am fortunate that I continued to play. She is taking Indian women cricket to a great level and I believe only Mithali herself can do justice to the role in the biopic.

Playing for Railways in the domestic competition, Mithali began by playing with stars like Purnima Rau, Anjum Chopra and Anju Jain for Air India. Riding on Harmanpreet Kaur's brilliance, team India proved its worth in the single match. However, post the World Cup triumph, Gerald Corbett, the club's chairman, told that "Lord's is changing".

"We are much more open than we were".

Sharing the stage with her captain, batting sensation Harmanpreet Kaur too felt good about getting a grand welcome.

Welcoming the team, Goel said these players have "inspired youths, especially millions of young women across the country to take up sports as a career".

Which was a bigger achievement - the win against Pakistan or Australia in the semifinal? In August 2006 she led the side to their first-ever Test and series victory in England and wrapped up the year winning the Asia Cup - the second time in 12 months - without dropping a single game. I learnt a lot there and that helped me a lot in the World Cup. It has only been Smriti Mandhana and myself so far.
