And with 2017 also heralding events like the introduction of expanded human emoji and the premiere of the Emoji Movie, it looks like emojis are truly coming of age. "I wasn't at all surprised to hear that Hollywood was embracing the meteoric rise in emoji and I'm sure the film is going to be a much-loved family hit this summer". Around the globe, Sony Pictures Animation's The Emoji Movie will roll out from late July through October this year.

Today (Monday July 17) is World Emoji Day and hands tech-savvy messengers the opportunity to celebrate their emoji-usage in style. "It's official-this is a fantastic achievement!" There are a total of 2666 in the Unicode Emoji Standard with more been added regularly. With all the apps and photos, is the hidden city of Textopolis, a city where all your favourite emojis live, just waiting to be selected by their user and get their turn. In fact it's become a frequent gripe around the office - why isn't there an emoji for this, that or the other? The Emoji Movie is all set to release in India on 11th August 2017.
