While Bakayoko has not yet pulled on the training kit, the Frenchman was a keen spectator as Antonio Conte put the boys through their paces at Cobham on Saturday.

"Roma is a big club too, in Italy, but I think Chelsea is a different level and of course the biggest reason [for his move] was the coach, Antonio Conte".

Let's see what happens.

The 22-year-old was in attendance as Chelsea ran riot on championship club Fulham, winning 8-2, as Batshuayi scored a brace.

"As a Ligue 1 champion, I am even more determined to win as many championships as I can with my dream team Chelsea". Everything is much bigger than I have known, and it seems like the ideal place to play football.

Aspiring Chelsea midfielders can have few better role models than Makelele, now assistant coach at Swansea but formerly victor of two league titles and three major cups at Stamford Bridge.

Bakayoko also went on to reveal how he was helped by former Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele during his time at Monaco, and that Didier Drogba is a huge inspiration.

Ramires, signed from Benfica for £18m in the summer of 2010, has one of the more interesting Chelsea legacies.

"Drogba has had a stellar career and he managed to do so many great things, first at Marseille and then here at Chelsea", he added. "He is definitely an example I wish to follow, be it the footballer or the person. I am very proud", he told the club's official website.

The Blues are also in the hunt for a new striker, having actually chose to pay attention to offers for Diego Costa and also Nemanja Matic, that were both neglected of the pre-season tour of the Far East.
