Pinhole Projection Viewer

I understand the excitement and social aspect of this event, but there are risks involved.

The team will also be able to get unique and fantastic features such as "Diamond Ring" and "Bailys' Beads" - which happens as pinpoints of light are passed through the uneven features and craters of the Moon when the moon is covering the sun.The experiments will include studying the corona of the Sun which is only visible during an eclipse. What comes to my mind is, how can we know that the students looking at the eclipse will wear their gear properly? They are still selling eclipse glasses for $5 each for $7.

There has to be some degree of due diligence to safely watch the eclipse.

They must meet a very specific worldwide standard known as ISO 12312-2.

Go to aao.org and search solar eclipse for more information.

As eclipse glasses sell out at retailers across the U.S., customers are panicking as they realize that their glasses may not arrive in time for the once-in-a-lifetime event. If you see any scratches or damage, do not use them.

Inspect solar filters before use.

The sun should appear quite dim through a solar viewer. You will need special eclipse or solar viewers to look at the sun safely.

The live streaming will be done from Idaho in the U.S. using a 50 mm f/5 finderscope, a small auxiliary telescope mounted on an Astrotrac tracker - the main astronomical telescope - to follow the Sun.

Eclipse viewing glasses also will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis on the library plaza, the news release said.

Always supervise children using solar filters.

Those who are planning to view the eclipse are being advised to protect their eyes, as viewing the sun during an eclipse can cause severe damage. Turn away from the sun before removing the solar filter.

" Never look at the uneclipsed or partially eclipsed sun through an unfiltered camera, telescope, binoculars or other similar devices". You may even forget the eclipse was going to happen that day.
