Party sources said 10 Dalit workers from Rohtak had given their names for inviting Shah for lunch.

"Had lunch at our party worker Tarawati Devi's place. I thank her and her family for playing host", Shah tweeted later sharing the pictures as well.

The BJP chief was accompanied by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Haryana ministers Ram Bilas Sharma, Anil Vij, Capt Abhimanyu, O P Dhankar, Manish Grover, besides senior party leaders Anil Jain, Ganeshi Lal and state BJP chief Subhash Barala. The BJP claimed Chahar was informed only two hours before the lunchtime that Shah would be coming at her residence. These visits to workers' homes are also being seen as an outreach to various sections. The party said it was his way of telling the country that the BJP treats all its party workers equally irrespective of their caste. Such get-togethers make the workers feel valued, he emphsised.

Addressing a gathering of BJP office-bearers here on the last day of his visit to the state, Shah asked party activists not to be complacent or rest till "every person gets food, every child gets education and every field gets water". "Shah will also hold meetings with select party leaders, but a detailed programme will being chalked out soon after the meeting of the state office-bearers", said BJP state general secretary Ajay Pratap Singh.

With an eye on the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Shah is travelling across states to strategise and find ways to strengthen the party at the grass-root level.
