Sebastian Giovinco has made a double, and the Toronto FC inflicted a defeat of 3-1 at the Impact, Sunday in Montreal.

Sebastian Giovinco and Jozy Altidore, TFC's goalscorers on Sunday, are finally healthy, together, and in increasingly fine form - 7 goals, 3 assists in 8 games; and, 3 goals in 6 games since returning from the Gold Cup.

Former Juventus forward Giovinco broke the deadlock four minutes before half-time, curling a stunning free-kick past Montreal goalkeeper Evan Bush.

Jozy Altidore - named in the USA national team's squad for CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers against Costa Rica and Honduras - doubled the lead seven minutes into the second half.

Ignacio Piatti reduced the deficit in the 92nd minute but Giovinco restored Toronto's two-goal cushion a minute later as he took his season tally to 15 league goals.

Elsewhere, the top two teams in the Western Conference met as the Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers played to a 1-1 draw at CenturyLink Field. The Sounders had a 1-1 draw with Vancouver 1-1 on Wednesday despite playing the majority of the second half with a one-man advantage.

But their Cascadia Cup rivals drew level in first-half stoppage time, with Darren Mattocks drawing a penalty before Diego Valeri converted from the spot.

Substitute Nathan Smith was sent off in the 57th minute after Valeri Qazaishvili put the Earthquakes ahead in first-half stoppage time. Shea Salinas' corner kick slipped untouched to the far side of the area, where Qazaishvili first-timed a shot that deflected slightly off defender Dave Romney and into the net.
