Sunday's 24-10 preseason loss to the Lions did nothing to ease Colts' fans concerns about Luck's absence, as none of the Indy quarterbacks played particularly well.

Irsay sounded optimistic about Andrew Luck being able to take the next steps in his recovery process soon. Better be safe than sorry, because without Luck, the Colts will have no chance of postseason play in 2017. So clearly, the Colts are seeing some good things from their quarterback. Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star speculates that Luck has begun throwing again.

Following a 24-10 loss in Sunday's preseason opener, Irsay said it's still uncertain whether Luck will be ready for the Colts' regular-season opener September 10 at the Rams.

Luck has obviously been extremely banged up for nearly all of the past two seasons, so it makes sense that the Colts' medical staff would want to bring him along extremely slowly.

It's clear that the Colts would really struggle in the regular season if Luck starts the year on the sideline.
