The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Thursday allowed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to access to the confidential volume X of the final report compiled by six-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) that probed former prime minister Nawaz Sharif family's offshore wealth in relation to the Panama Papers leaks.

The apex court's orders came at a time when anti-corruption watch dog has summoned deposed PM and his two sons to turn up before the NAB investigators in Lahore.

On July 28, a five-member bench of SC disqualifying Nawaz Sharif under Article 62 (1)( f) of the Constitution, had directed NAB to submit four references to the Rawalpindi accountability court within six weeks on the basis of finding of the JIT and investigations of Federal Investigation Agency and NAB.

He said the case had been referred to the Rawalpindi NAB on Aug 11 and the decision to summon the Sharifs was taken by NAB chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, the Dawn reported.

The NAB had asked the apex court for issuing the said volume for filing the reference against ousted prime minister, his children and Ishaq Dar in accordance with the orders of the Supreme Court.

There are several cases involving investigation by NAB, including the affairs of many sugar mills.

In the Panamagate case verdict, the apex court ordered the top accountability body to file references against the ruling family within six weeks before the accountability court of Rawalpindi-Islamabad on the basis of the material collected and referred to by the joint investigation team (JIT) that probed into the Sharifs' offshore assets as revealed in April a year ago.
