Ryan Adams Calls Father John Misty a 'Self-Important A—hole'

Hang out with pals?

When Har Mar Superstar jumped into to intervene on Misty's behalf, Adams doubled-down in a number of since deleted tweets, writing, "Yeah, Elton Josh has never targeted another artist before". He also asked, "Did you hug Elton Josh when we talks sh*t about every person ever?" And he also went on to refer to Father John Misty as "Elton Josh" and "Sir Fuckhead". "You must be in a constant embraces with Sir F*ckhead".

"How he maintained that smile on his face, playing so consistently and with such little flash (even though I'm sure some nights he just wanted to stretch out and make it all about himself) is beyond me", Tillman writes. "It happens. I apologize", he began.

‪I took a deep breath & remembered I can always do better‬.

"So I leave this here as a reminder", he continued.

I am very exhausted but it's no excuse to be cruel to others, even if they have shown me that same meanness. "With Love, ‪Forgiveness & Peace‬ & Magic‬ XO".

It's unclear what exactly sparked the issue between the two artists, but an issue over some Taylor Swift covers seems to be a big part of it. It's pretty dang good. Early this morning, Adams took aim squarely at his fellow roots-rock wiseacre Father John Misty, calling him "the most self-important asshole on earth" and calling his whole style a "Nick Cave impression". In an interview with Rolling Stone past year, Misty explained that, "I was taking this dude to task for what I saw as a grotesque stunt and matching it with another grotesque stunt". I had to take them down. It was such a comedy of errors.
