"Compulsion Games has an incredible game vision and it's an honour for Gearbox Publishing to contribute to the effort".

We Happy Few will go all the way up to $59.99 for its retail launch, which should give you a good indication of the quality and depth Compulsion is gunning for.

A former Kickstarter title, We Happy Few has been in Early Access on the above-mentioned platforms since July 2016, with a final release expected to hit sometime in the relatively near future.

By pre-ordering We Happy Few, you'll receive 15% off (at participating retailers) and the in-game Jolly Brolly parasol weapon. The final game will include a full storyline that will tell more of the tale behind this odd, paranoid little city, and put you in control of three different characters over the course of your adventure, though Compulsion didn't note just how they would be involved. There will also be a Collector's Edition, priced at $149.99, full of We Happy Few-themed swag. At the start of the game, you begin to see the world for what it really is, and you embark on a unsafe, sandbox survival mission to escape the twisted town of Wellington Wells.

For those that don't know: We Happy few takes place during the 1960's in a drug-fuelled, retrofuturistic city of Wellington Wells. With an improved UI, upgraded AI, new joy effects, "and more", the update marks the last feature pack Alpha testers will see ahead of the game's full launch, as Compulsion shifts development towards finishing the game. In it you have to plot your escape while also blending in with other inhabitants, who don't take kindly to people who don't abide by their "normal" rules. The developer and Gearbox Publishing announced today they will release We Happy Few on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on April 13, 2018.

It's certainly exciting that We Happy Few has an actual date as to when it will officially be completed next year, and Compulsion Games is also set to thank fans who have been playing it since its Early Access and Game Preview Program period. "Each of these three playable characters has their own particular strengths - and their own dark secrets".
