As PSG look to improve their attack even more, they are prepared to offer a swap deal with Atletico Madrid to bring in Griezmann in exchange for Cavani, meaning Manchester United will lose out on their long-term pursuit of Griezmann and Chelsea's move for Cavani.

A £3.5m signing from the Addicks back in 2015, Gomez was part of Gareth Southgate's youth integration during this international break ahead of next summer's World Cup.

Barcelona reportedly now lead Manchester United in the race for Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann having held secret discussions with the player in recent weeks. However, he has yet to taste success in La Liga, which might tempt him to move to Barcelona.

French media outlet Le10 Sport have reported that Griezmann is looking to leave Atletico at the end of the season.

With Atletico free to conduct business again from January 1, rumours are abound that Griezmann will leave the Wanda Metropolitano - and Jose Mourinho's men have again been linked with the forward. That may be an attraction of joining PSG in the coming years.

Barcelona are looking for a multi-faceted forward and believe that Griezmann is the best option for them.

The same article explained how Griezmann pulled the plug on a switch to Manchester United last summer due to Atletico's transfer ban, and he then extended his contract to raise his release clause to €200 million (£178 million).

But he now appears to have poured cold water over the idea of a move to Old Trafford.
