Ander Herrera believes that Manchester United are hitting their stride

There's a little game at Old Trafford against Manchester United coming up, and this may be a good opportunity to rotate the squad and give some reserves and youngsters a chance to play.

This will be Pep Guardiola's 100th Champions League game as manager, becoming the sixth to reach that landmark after Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, Carlo Ancelotti, Jose Mourinho and Mircea Lucescu.

David Moyes has not enjoyed the best start to life at the London Stadium, yet it seems the hard work on the training ground is starting to pay off, with West Ham's midfield particularly impressive against the Blues (which is something that could not be said for much of the campaign).

Shakhtar knew a draw would be enough to send it into the knockout stages, regardless of Napoli's result at Feyenoord, but it took the lead after 25 minutes, Bernard beating Danilo and bending a fine shot beyond Ederson after Marlos did superbly to create space.

But watching the awesome ability of this new wave of City talent has in turn boosted the squad's elder statesmen, according to Toure.

"When you see the team playing you are sure we are going to score goals because we see how we are dominating, how we control the game".

"Our opponents have all these issues".

In his post-match press conference, Mourinho expanded on United's current injury problems and specifically referenced Lacazette and Silva's respective situations.

"The truth is Eric Bailly, no chance for the weekend, Phil Jones a chance, [Marouane] Fellaini a chance, Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] a big chance and [Nemanja] Matic is injured but will play for sure". No stories of (Alexandre) Lacazette, David Silva.

The Tottenham defender sparked controversy last summer during an interview when he questioned the club's wage structure and admitted he'd be happy to move away.

However the normally confident Ederson was caught in two minds as he dashed out to challenge Ismaily as he chased a ball over the top.

The English side have already won their Champions League group, and Shakhtar will go through in second if they avoid defeat tonight.

"He felt uncomfortable after his goal [against West Ham]". We had two strikers in the second half and that helped, it was a big lesson for me.
