Consumer Report iPhone X has a great camera but final score is below Galaxy S8

Consumer Report iPhone X has a great camera but final score is below Galaxy S8

Consumer Reports has published its final iPhone X testing results and has given the Apple flagship smartphone a recommendation but ranked it below iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The text appears to be in Chinese, but some of the numbers and quick translations reveal some details about the upcoming smartphone. One of the iPhone X phones that specialists have tested had major back-glass damage.

On the other hand, the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus had ended up with just a few scrapes after the durability and drop test. Further, front displays of the iPhone X, 8, and 8 Plus all came away unharmed.

With the strong demand for iPhone X, a Taiwanese supplier is predicting that the Cupertino giant's rivals will also adopt the 3D sensing technology Apple used on the 10th anniversary iPhone to their flagship handsets.

Among a lot of other characteristics, the iPhone X has a 19.5-hour life, surpassing the life of the iPhone 8 but being behind the Samsung Galaxy S8 which has a battery life of 26 hours. This feature is already available on the iPhone X. Reports indicate that Samsung will instead continue to combine the facial recognition and iris sensor with the use of the front camera. Then again, if the specs sheet really did come from Samsung or one of its suppliers, it at least confirms some of the things that we know about the Galaxy S9. The iPhone X performed well in the initial drop tests, but it didn't fare so well after more extensive testing. In addition, the publication praised the convenience of Face ID, as well as the iPhone X's "beautiful OLED display". However, the S9 is not the only arrow in Samsung's quiver for 2018. And while you don't get the familiar Home button, you pick up a decent amount of screen space in a phone that's significantly smaller than the 7 Plus and 8 Plus. It'll allow the phone itself to lie flat on the desk and act as keyboard/mouse, eliminating the need for these extra peripherals. It is notable that iPhone X is lagging behind its own counterparts from Apple, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. These two smartphones are followed by the iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone 8 in number third and fourth position respectively. Reports indicated that Samsung may release the Galaxy S9 sooner than planned.

One out of three iPhone X model suffered serious body damage, while the other two have display issues.
