The developer plans to launch the game late next year, but in the meantime, there's another gift for fans of the franchise. The wait is over.

Capcom released a short gameplay trailer for Mega Man 11 and it looks great. It'd be Mega Man 2, actually. That being said, Mega Man's walking animation is a bit off and his voice is surprisingly deep, which might have been done to address his feminine voice from Mega Man 8. The game has an excellent color palette of blues and browns, from what we've seen. How late? That remains to be seen. You can also check out the press release below for more details.

No word on the exact release dates for either of these two modern Mega Man titles - or even format of release for the Mega Man X Collection port for that matter - but they will both be arriving in 2018 as of now, much to fans delight.

Here's our first look at the game. Mega Man 11 is coming to all the relevant systems sometime in late 2018!

Capcom's first Mega Man Legacy Collection contains main series entries 1-6, and its follow-up includes Mega Man 7-10.

Those worried the vision and feel of the original game could be lost should fear not, as the upcoming entry will be headed by some series veterans. Additionally, the characters are completely hand-drawn along with the environments. Tsuchiya, Oda, and Capcom have all confirmed that Mega Man 11, while a sequel to the previous 10 classic games, will serve somewhat as a rebirth of the series. Legacy Collection first came out on other platforms, with the first coming out on 3DS in early 2016.
