Real Madrid have secured qualification and face Borussia Dortmund - a team that needs to win in order to secure a spot in the knockout phase of the Europa League - on Wednesday. However, Perez has now moved to openly back his manager and declared that Zidane is the best manager for his team. It was the perfect opportunity for Zidane's men to cover the gap between them and Barcelona, but Los Blancos were unable to capitalize. He currently has just two goals in this season's competition, following a return of seven goals last season and 11 in the Europa League in the previous campaign.

Last season the two sides clashed at the Bernabeu in December and played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Karim Benzema scoring both goals for the European champions.

The Champions League has been a different story, though, as Ronaldo once again leads all scorers with eight in five games.

The Gabon international has two tallies to his name and is offered at 5/4 (2.20) to add to that number, a price that looks tempting given that he has scored in his last three games against Real Madrid.

Gareth Bale remains sidelined and Zinedine Zidane did not provide much encouragement on the Welshman's chances of making it to the Club World Cup. "First he has to train with the group, but he'll certainly be coming to Abu Dhabi".

The Los Blancos' defender Dani Carvajal will miss out for Real Madrid with a suspension.

The versatile Nacho is tipped to fill the void in defence with Zidane having also left Achraf out of the squad alongside Vallejo and Kroos.

Over the weekend, rumours emerged that Aubameyang could link up with former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, but this is little more than idle newspaper talk, with the Reds boss looking at targets other than the 28-year-old. He was a key part of the clubs promotion back to La Liga in 2015.

Real Madrid might not be playing according to their pre-season expectations, but that same sentence doesn't even come close to define what Dortmund have endured during this season.

The current Celtic have not lost in 67 domestic matches, a British record, with Brendan Rodgers undefeated on home soil since becoming manager 18 months ago.

Tottenham's win over Dortmund on the last matchday ensured Spurs' first position in Group H.
