Ribery masterminds Bayern’s win over Leverkusen to go 14 points clear in Bundesliga

Barring a huge collapse in form - which doesn't seem likely with how Jupp Heynckes has been running the team since he took over the club earlier this season, which started that impressive run of form - Bayern are going to easily win the Bundesliga, and they'll break a lot of hearts along the way.

Franck Ribery showed Bayern Munich why the Bundesliga leaders should extend his contract as the 34-year-old netted a superb goal in Friday's 3-1 win at Bayer Leverkusen.

His teammates Julian Brandt and Kevin Volland are also among the highlighted players for the home side, which sits fourth the German Bundesliga table standings and will move to second place with a win. Have your say in the comments section below.

Bailey plans to prove against Bayern that the Jamaican winger is even quicker with the ball at his feet than close friend Usain Bolt.

Goals from Javi Martinez and Franck Ribery in either half, and a brilliant free kick from James Rodriguez in injury time kept the defending champions on course for a record-extending sixth consecutive title. Manuel Neuer (metatarsal), Thiago Alcantara (muscle), Christian Fruchtl (ankle), Marco Friedl (wound), Mats Hummels (ill) and Robert Lewandowski are unlikely to be available for selection against Bayer Leverkusen this Friday.

Lucas Alario was inches away soon after when the Argentina striker saw his shot go narrowly wide of the top corner from outside the area, but the Bavarians had the last laugh when Rodríguez sent a stunning curling effort into the top corner from a free-kick, after he'd been fouled by Lars Bender outside the area. Third-placed Dortmund will be hoping to continue their recovery under new coach Peter Stoeger, having won their last two league matches before the break, when they host VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday.

However, the goal sparked Leverkusen into life.

The second goal seemed to take the fizz out of the game, although from virtually out of nowhere Leverkusen hit back with 20 minutes to go.

Ribery then made sure of the three points on 59 minutes in emphatic style.

"I am happy that both have trained partly with the team and both feel well", Heynckes said at his pre-match news conference. The 20-year-old has scored six goals and assisted on four others.
