The Guardian's publication of that excerpt this week set off a war of words between Trump and his former adviser.

The 64-year-old author appeared on US television to discuss his book, and said he had held extensive conversations with Mr Trump.

The White House is pushing back questioning the author's credibility. Majority of people in this country believe that we should go forward with impeachment proceedings. He also said he had spoken to Trump since the inauguration. "This book is about Donald Trump". Still, she said it's not clear when the supplier will send more. So literally I am not a hit man. As someone who loves to read, and wishes more Americans did, too, this is a trend I'd like to see more of in 2018.

He said his book was based on about 200 interviews. On the pages of the book, aides are quoted openly criticizing the president, describing him as a child. Originally scheduled for a Tuesday debut, "Fire and Fury" was made available early Friday morning. The stock market is up very, very big today.

Harder has not responded to CNN's requests for comment about the new release date or the prospect of legal action against the book.
