They famously collided behind the safety car last year when Vettel swerved into Hamilton in a bout of road rage after he believed he had been 'brake-tested' by the Briton.

"His only question mark is engine performance". But he can expect stiff competition from Hamilton and Vettel, with fans hoping for another three-way fight at the front. "I have watched a few replays and the only thing we can both say is sorry to the team". The length of the widest part of the track is 13 meters, and the narrowest width is 7.6 meters between the turns 7 and 8, which are along the Icheri Sheher.

"So I had to get that taken out and stitched back up in London". On top of Vettel's three spins, an off-form Stoffel Vandoorne brushed the wall while Lance Stroll reported that his Williams was undriveable. It's just unfortunate, unlucky. I'll let you guys and fans have your comments.

Ricciardo also revealed on Thursday that he had required surgery in London following the Chinese Grand Prix for a wound to his lip, which he had bitten during the Bahrain Grand Prix last month. Max and I love to race as we show.

The victory will be hugely pleasing and of some relief to the British driver and his team.

Having battled for much of the race, with Verstappen appearing to deliberately hit and force his teammate wide at one stage, the pair finally came to grief on the 39th lap in an incident that was to totally change the shape of the race.

Ricciardo had nowhere to go, running into the back of the sister car and putting both out of the race. The race looked to belong to Bottas but a lap later the Finn picked up some debris and took a major puncture that removed him from contention. Horner sat motionless, aghast at what he had just witnessed.

"Before that it was hard racing but fair, we gave each other space".

In a highly dramatic race, Lewis Hamilton finished as the winner, ahead of Kimi Raikkonen (2nd) and Sergio Perez (3rd).

"We are always very fair to each other and have spoken immediately about this".

Team boss Christian Horner emphasised on the drivers showing respect for the team.

"It is 70% Verstappen, and 30% Ricciardo". Last year, it was Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel bumping each other. It is a disaster. They touched wheels and were told to calm it down.

They have clashed before, but this incident comes as Ricciardo is publicly considering a move to Ferrari or Mercedes for next season.

Max Verstappen has been best known for collisions this season, and the Red Bull driver crashed again in the first practice but recovered to post the third-fastest time in the second session.

A contrite Ricciardo said it was a chaotic race "and I guess we caused most of that". I don't think letting us not race anymore is the way forwards, but we will talk about it. We will learn from this and have to make sure it doesn't happen again.
